MyPACS is now equipped with a complete DICOM server which is seamlessly integrated into the application. Once the PACS system is configured by your IT department you will be able to send DICOM studies to the MyPACS DICOM Queue. Studies are stored in the queue where you are able to retrieve the images and create a teaching file at a later time. When your ready to create a teaching file you will log into the MyPACS system and search the DICOM queue for the desired study as described in Using the Tabs-Based Editor . The set of images associated with the study will open in a DICOM viewer where individual images can be selected for the teaching file case.
The IT department will configure your PACS workstation to recognize the Teaching File DICOM Queue as a destination point. The user interface will vary depending on the type of PACS system or modality you are using. See below for an example of what the interface for a PACS workstation might look like. Notice the "Send" button. If you come across a study that you would like to include in a teaching file case you can simply click the "Send" button and the entire series will be pushed to the Teaching File DICOM Queue. You will need to take note of the patient name or study number for use in retrieving the study from DICOM Queue.
